Sunsong is a graded course intended for use in the first three years of secondary school. The course aims to teach students to interpret poems and encourages them to enjoy the depth of meaning in poetry without detracting from their enjoyment.
The anthology contains a mixture of poems from the Caribbean and other parts of the world. The selection is varied, challenging, and enjoyable. It includes rhythmic poems for choral orchestration, story poems for humor and entertainment, as well as poems for serious thought. There is a short biography on each poet to add useful background, plus questions on each poem.
